Hiram E. Leonard Diary, August 26 - September 1, 1874

“26th Wednesday  fine dry hot weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.

“27th Thursday  fine weather but dry  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ afflicted with the rheumatism.

“28th Friday  fine hot dry weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.

“29th Saturday  dry hot weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.

“30th Sunday  fine dry hot day more cool in the evening  I did my choars was round home all day wrote some etc  went to bed about half past nine 9 ½, the folks went to the Baptist Church to a concert & got home about 9 ¼  I was nearly sick with a cold & the rheumatism.

“31st Monday  fine weather & dry  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with the rheumatism.

“September 1st Tuesday  fine dry weather  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with the rheumatism.”
