“25th Thursday fine hot dry weather I did my choars choared round the office some closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick thurmometer stood at 90 degrees above zero the most of the day.
“26th Friday fine hot dry weather verry hot & dry I did my choars choared round the office some closed up about 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out the murcury in the thurmometer stud from 80 to 90 degrees above zero Caroline went to Naperville today & got a parler stove.
“27th Saturday fine hot dry weather I did my choars choared round the office some closed up about 8 ¼ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick thurmometer from 80 to 90 Caroline & Mary went to Aurora with H Rogers.
“28th Sunday A fine day & began to rain about 8 & wet conciderable during the forenoon I did my choars went to farm a while came back wrote some & red some & went to bed about 9 sick it rained amost all the forenoon James Clark & wife came up today to S Frenches, came back & went to meeting.
“29th Monday pretty fine weather for fall but dry I did my choars choared round some in office closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ sick.
“30th Tuesday fine cool dry weather I did my choars choared round the office some closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold.
“October 1st Wednesday pretty fine weather for the season I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.”
