“20th Thursday rather a fine day but grew cold in afternoon and was a pretty cool night I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 & went to bed about 10 sick [in margin] protracted meeting.
“21st Friday A cold morning thurmometer at 10 or 11 degrees below zero I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick a cold Peter Hines wife died this morning. A dance tonight at Burnetts on the Griffeth Place.
“22nd Saturday A cold morning & day I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ sick Thurmometer at 10 or 11 degrees below zero in morning.
“23rd Sunday A cold morning & day but rather pleasant I did my choars choared round some closed up & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold Peter Hinzes wife was buried at Winfield today.
“24th Monday rather fine cold weather I did my choared round some closed up about 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ tiard & nearly sick with a cold.
“25th Tuesday pretty cold weather I did my choars choared some was round home all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 10 nearly sick with a cold.
“26th Wednesday fine cold weather I did my choars choared round some closed up about 8 and went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold & trouble.”
