Hiram E. Leonard Diary, May 23 - 29, 1872
“23rd Thursday rather fine weather but cloudy I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard & nearly sick with a cold.
“24th Friday fine weather & cloudy I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 10 tiard & nearly sick with a cold.
“25th Saturday A fine pleasant warme day I did my choars choared round all day, went to the farm & choared round closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard & sick with a cold Caroline & Emma Anesworth went up to William Anesworth & he brought them home about 7.
“26th Sunday A fine pleasant day with some clouds & warm I did my choars went up to the place & fixed the pump corn hack & fixed the pump at my house choared round some wrote some etc the cow that I let D Kenyon have had a calf & D Kenyon went with me up to the farm to see it I did my choars & went to bed about 9 tiard & nearly sick [in margin] 3 year old cow had a calf with her this morning.
“27th Monday fine growing weather but cool I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold.
“28th Tuesday Cool dry weather I did my choars choared round the most of the day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 10 tiard & nearly sick.
“29th Wednesday fine dry cool cloudy day & some misty I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 10 tiard & nearly sick with a cold.”
