Hiram E. Leonard Diary, February 10 - 16, 1875
“10th Wednesday cold winter weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism snowed some thurmometer at 15 degs below zero.
“11th Thursday cold winter weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 nearly sick with a cold etc.
“12th Friday cold winter weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with rheumatism & cold.
“13th Saturday cold winter weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism & cold the thurmometer has been from 12 to 23 degrees below zero all the week in the morning.
“14th Sunday A pleasant cold winter day I did my choars was at the house all day choared round & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism & cold Frank Sage Anna Reynolds were married at R S S Reynolds house about 4 or 5 oclock this afternoon by Elder Cooper the Methodist minister thurmometer stood this morning at 23 degrees below zero.
“15th Monday a cold winter day & good sleighing I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism & a bad cold thurmometer at 20 degrees below zero.
“16th Tuesday fine winter weather & cold I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with a cold & the rheumatism thermometer at 18 below zero.”
