“27th Wednesday fine growing weather I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with rheumatism.
“28th Thursday fine hot growing weather I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with rheumatism Thurmometer at 96 above zero, Orrin Finch was here & Homer Blackman came along here & called today.
“29th Friday A fine hot day & growing weather I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold thurmometer stood at 96 degrees above zero Mrs Edward Rogers wife had a daughter born this morning.
“30th Saturday fine hot growing weather I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to meeting at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold T W Watson ran into Mr Klines waggon or carriage & hurt them some he was at the Junction They decorated the Soldiers graves today through the country.
“31st Sunday A fine warm pleasant day I did my choars was round the office & house all day went to bed about 9 nearly sick etc Folks all went to the Baptist Meeting Allace Manning & Elder Sherwins girle were baptized today.
“June 1st Monday fine growing weather I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold.
“2nd Tuesday fine growing weather I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold My _________ heifer calved today at dusk, Pollards calved yesterday.”
