7th Wednesday  fine cold dry weather  I did my choars, choared round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold etc.

8th Thursday  fine cold dry weather  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold & rheumatism  I sent to Wheaton for a marriage licence by letter.

9th Friday  A fine cool pleasant day with some clouds  I did my choars was at home all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick etc.

10th Saturday  fine cool pleasant weather  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ sick with a cold & the rheumatism  Hudson went to Chicago  Hurbot Hollister was taken to Joliet States prison.

11th Sunday  fine cool dry weather some cloudy  I did my choars was at home the most of the day writing etc went to bed about 9 nearly sick.

12th Monday  A cool pleasant day  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with the rheumatism.

13th Tuesday  A fine pleasant day & evening  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ had the rheumatism  Hiram E Leonard & Caroline Willson were married at about 8 ½ this evening at home by Joseph Hudson Esqr.”
