Hiram E. Leonard Diary, April 3 - 9, 1873

3rd Thursday  A muddy fine day  I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ Jerry Dady sawed wood for me.

4th Friday  A fine hot day  I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ sick with a cold  thurmometer stood at 76 to 80 degrees above zero  exehibition tonight.

5th Saturday  A hot cloudy day with a thunder shower in evening & rained all night  I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 & went to bed at 10  School meeting today & elected Jonathan F Pollard school director by a large majority.

6th Sunday  A rainey day & muddy  I did my choars choared round some went to bed at 9 nearly sick  I went up to the farm & worked some.

7th Monday  pretty cloudy damp weather some rainey  I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 and went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold.

8th Tuesday  rather fine but muddy  I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold etc  old Goos laid the first egg today for this year.

9th Wednesday  some damp & muddy  I did my choars choared round the office some closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold.”
