“2nd Thursday a fine rainey day rained pretty hard a part of the day I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick etc Mrs Herck & child started for Kansas today.
“3rd Friday A cold windy day & night I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½.
“4th Saturday some snow squalls I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ sick.
“5th Sunday A snow squalley forenoon and more pleasant in the afternoon & cleared off near night & a beautiful evening I did my choars & choared round some & went to bed about 9 sick Peter Hines wife had a child born today.
“6th Monday pretty cold winter weather I did my choars choared round some closed up about 8 & went to bed about 9 sick P Hinze child died today.
“7th Tuesday cold winter weather I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold Mrs Tart went to Mr James B Clark to Leland to work.
“8th Wednesday cold winter weather & pretty good sleighing A very windy weather I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ about sick with a cold & the rheumatism.”
