“10th Wednesday fine weather for winter I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick Rheuben Balis came to Henry Balises a visating & went out in the evening & fell down the celler hatch way & brock his thy & ingured him inwardly so that he died a Friday.
“11th Thursday fine winter weather & no snow I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sic.
“12th Friday fine weather for January I did my choars choared round the office all day etc closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick, Reuben Balis died today from his fall last Wednesday at H Balises.
“13th Saturday fine winter weather I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick [in margin] Barrus drew wood.
“14th Sunday fine weather but cloudy I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick.
“15th Monday fine winter weather I did my choared round the most of the day closed at 8 & went to bed at 9 tiard & sick, H Balis took his fathers corps to Courtland today to be buried.
“16th Tuesday fine weather but cloudy I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick, Barrus drew wood.”
