“23rd Wednesday fine hot dry weather I did my choars was round the office all day a choaring I closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 nearly sick.
“24th Thursday A fine pleasant day & dry I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 nearly sick & worne out [in margin] Mona Mulnix shot in Memphis Tennesee.
“25th Friday fine weather & more cool I did my choars & choared round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick G Colling dug well.
“26th Saturday A fine cool day & sprinkled a little in morning I did my choars choared round the office closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick G Colling worked on well all day Wm Colling ½ day wheeling dirt John Strictland came to Barruses with old Mrs Barrus & stayed all night J Graves brought his wife to Kenyons to see Jessee Graves & left her.
“27th Sunday A fine cool pleasant day I did my choars choared some, wrote some laid down a while & called to D Kenyons & went to bed at 9 nearly sick John Strictland went to the Big Woods to quarterly meeting Kenyon took his cow to my bull.
“28th Monday some cloudy & rainey I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick Mrs Bliss came here about noon & eat dinner & stayed all night.
“29th Tuesday A rainey mudgy forenoon I did my choars was round the office all day a choaring I closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 nearly sick Mrs Bliss went to Naperville in the stage this afternoon.”
