Hiram E. Leonard Diary, November 8 - 14, 1871
“8th Wednesday rather a cool cloudy day I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick Nelson was here [in margin] Nelson went to Billings.
“9th Thursday A rainey day began last night I did my choars, choared round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 tiard and nearly sick [Mrs Spader had a daughter born]—in margin.
“10th Friday rather a cool day & some cloudy I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 tiard and nearly sick & worne out.
“11th Saturday A fine pleasant day for November I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 nearly sick.
“12th Sunday rather a fine cool day but some cloudy I did my choars was round the house the most of the day went to bed at 9 nearly sick Emma went to meeting all day & evening Mrs Bliss called here at noon [in margin] McGregor commence preaching for the outsiders at 2 oclock today.
“13th Monday A cloudy rainey day begun to rain last night I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick.
“14th Tuesday cleared of today cold & froze I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 nearly sick etc.”
