Hiram E. Leonard Diary, May 4 - 10, 1870
“4th Wednesday fine hot weather I did my choars round store was round store all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard & nearly sick.
“5th Thursday A fine day for May I did my choars at store was round a choaring all day & evening closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick [in margin] Hollister got home from Graftin.
“6th Friday rather fine cool weather I did my choars at the store was round the store all day plastered some & closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out Graves, Jewel & Jerome Beardsly got home.
“7th Saturday A fine cool day I did my choars at store choared round & plastered some etc closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out Page & Ferry Bales were here.
“8th Sunday A fine cool day for May I did my choars was at the office all day a choaring round wrote some etc fixed room for plastering Mrs Barruses were here to supper I went to bed about 9.
“9th Monday fine dry weather & some cool nights I did my choars was at the office all day & up stares at night I shut up at ½ past 8 & went tobed at 9 ½ sick plastered bedroom.”
