Hiram E. Leonard Diary, November 30 - December 6, 1870
“30th Wednesday fine pleasant weather for the season I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick & worne out.
“1st Thursday fine weather for December & warme, I did my choars was at the office all day a choaring round the office closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick, Philema Warn married today to Henry Guild.
“2nd Friday A fine day for Dec & warm but some cloudy I did my choars was a choaring round the office all day closed up at 8 &went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick.
“3rd Saturday A fine mild day & some cloudy I did my choars was round the office all day a choaring round all [day] closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick.
“4th Sunday A fine warm day but some cloudy I did my choars was round the house & store all day & house a choaring round, T Pelham & wife & Mrs Partalou came here about 11 & stayed till after dinner Thomas Pelham & wife went home about 2 ¼ & Mrs Partalou stayed till 3 ½ we went to bed about 9 nearly sick [in margin] T Pelham wife Mrs Partalou were her to tea.
“5th Monday fine weather for the season I did my choars was at the office all day choared round some etc closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick.
“6th Tuesday A fine day for the season I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick & worne out.”
