Hiram E. Leonard Diary, July 8 - 14, 1869
“8th Thursday fine weather but cloudy I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ neary sick etc Eliza got mad & left [in margin] Eliza got mad & left went to Stones.
“9th Friday fine dry weather but cloudy some I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick.
“10th Saturday a fine day but cloudy & windy I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick & worne out, white heifer went to bull.
“11th Sunday A fine pleasant day but come cloudy I did my choars was round the house the most of the day went to office for Kenyon after breckfus the was sick Cal was sick, J Whipple came out yesterday & went to bed about 9 sick Abner Stone took Adees horse & a buggy & carried Emma Stone & Eliza McNelly to Filers at Danby.
“12th Monday rather fine weather I did my choars at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out Resseguie began to cut grass.
“13th Tuesday rainey weather I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out with trouble.
“14th Wednesday Stormey bad weather for haying I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out etc.”
