Hiram E. Leonard Diary, June 10 - 16, 1869
“10th Thursday fine weather but cool & wet I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out with trouble etc.
“11th Friday fine weather for June but cool & wet I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick & tiard out old cow bull all went to bull tonight & stayed all night.
“12th Saturday fine weather but cool windy & cloudy rained in the evening thunder shower & lightoned sharp I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out with trouble & Sister Dr A Stone was here regular from 3 to 5 times.
“13th Sunday A cloudy damp windy day with several squalls of rain cold & cloudy I did my choars was at home the most of the day a choaring round, made goos pen was at the office in evening came back & went to bed at about 9 nearly sick, the Stone were her as usual.
“14th Monday fine growing weather but verry wet I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out with trouble etc.
“15th Tuesday rather wet cloudy damp weather I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly worne out with Sister & trouble.
“16th Wednesday fine growing weather but verry wet I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly worne out with trouble.”
