Hiram E. Leonard Diary, October 7 - 13, 1869
“7th Thursday rather fine for the season I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ and went to bed at 9 ½ sick Eliza Garth & her mother Ralph & Del went to Morris [in margin] Mrs Resseguie went Morris.
“8th Friday rather fine & warm I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick Roderick Smith drawed 6130 cool at twice & Kenyon Wallace Jones drew coal.
“9th Saturday A cold cloudy raw day & damp I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick Caroline & Emma Stone went to Batavia & got back about 4 ½.
“10th Sunday rather a fine day cool & some cloudy & a thundershower with hail as big beans & the ground was white for an hour it did not went for some time I did my choars was at the house the most of the day went to the office about one was at office in evening came home and went to bed about 9 nearly sick Eliza came home & Anna Filer brought her & staryed to bed.
“11th Monday rather a fine I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick & worne out.
“12th Tuesday fine for the season & cool I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.
“13th Wednesday rather fine weather I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out [in margin] Caroline went to Aurora & sold her horse.”
