“9th Wednesday fine weather for the season I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism & a cold I brought my cows down today & T. W. Watson bought my speckled heifer & took her from home he paid 25 dollars for her.
“10th Thursday fine weather for December & dry I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism & a bad cold Caroline Mary & Mrs Tart went to Naperville in the stage & back again.
“11th Friday fine dry pleasant weather for Dec I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism Daniel Kenyon took my red heafer up to this house today to keep a while.
“12th Saturday A fine dry mild day for Dec I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 sick with the rheumatism buck with the sheep.
“13th Sunday A cloudy day & sprinkled a little about noon looked like rain I did my choars went to the farm & back wrote some & went to bed about 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism Caroline was about sick.
“14th Monday fine winter weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick with the rheumatism & cold Edward Mulnix went to Chicago with Eliza Perry.
“15th Tuesday fine weather for Dec verry dry I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism & a bad cold Edward Mulnix & Eliza Perry came back from Chicago today.”
