Hiram E. Leonard Diary, November 27 - December 3, 1873

27th Thursday  fine winter weather  I did my choars was round the office all day a choaring cloased up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.

28th Friday  A fine pleasant day for Nov  I did my choars was round the office all day cloased up about 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick  Sebe French & wife and Jonathan F Pollard & wife & Mrs Stone came here __________ and had an oyster supper that I won on Pollard Wedding.

29th Saturday  A most beautiful day for Nov  I did my choars was round the office all day a choaring cloased up about 8 & went to bed at 12 at night  Sebe French & wife & Jonathan F Pollard & wife & Mrs Stone came here and eat some oysters that were bid on Pollard marriage.

30th Sunday  A most beautiful day  I did my choars was round home the most of the day a writing some etc, went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick  Mrs Stone was here & went to meeting in afternoon beautiful sleighing.

December 1st Monday  pretty fine weather for Nov & good sleighing  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ sick  got my cow down from the other place.

2nd Tuesday  A thawey misty rainey day  Sleighing nearly spoilt  I did my choars choared round closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.

3rd Wednesday  A misty day  And the wind blew verry hard towards night & during the night a verry heavey wind all night  I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ about sick _________.”
