“30th Thursday rather a snow squalley disagreeable day I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold J P Graves went to Morris to get Boman Hudson, Jud Graves went to Chicago.
“31st Friday A raw snow squalley day & night I did my choars choared round some in office closed up about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick.
“November 1st Saturday rather a pleasant day till towards night when it clouded up & sprinkled in evening I did my choars choared round the office some closed about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold Col Warren came from Chicago R S S Reynolds droved manure nearly ½ day.
“2nd Sunday A cloudy damp misty disagreeable day & muddy I did my choars was up to farm choaring some come back about 11 wrote some etc went to bed about 9 nearly sick Procter round here for some time.
“3rd Monday A cool raw day I did my choars choared round the office some closed up about 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ tiard & about sick with a cold.
“4th Tuesday rather a fine day for the season I did my choars choared round some went to election with Mr Pelham to the Junction & back closed up about 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick County election today Jones was elected, a Jarnist Dudly & Hate.
“5th Wednesday rather fine day for the season I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick Herick & Garys witness went to Court Sycamore.”
