“16th Thursday cool dry weather I did my choars was round the office all day closed up about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ tiard & nearly sick with a cold & teeth ache.
“17th Friday fine cool dry weather I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed 9 ½ nearly worne out & sick with a cold & tooth ache.
“18th Saturday fine cool dry weather roads best kind I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick etc Indian in town.
“19th Sunday fine cool dry weather I did my choars was round the office all day & evening & went to bed about 9 sick J M Warren came a little before 12 to look over our accounts & stayed till about 4 we could not agree on our accounts but had some pretty hard words & he went home the Indian docter was here a part of the day & in evening.
“20th Monday fine cool dry day I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold & tooth ache Caroline went to Naperville in the stage in afternoon Indian docter went to Naperville H Corlett died this morning.
“21st Tuesday fine cool dry weather I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick etc Hatta Corlett was buried today.
“22nd Wednesday fine cool dry weather I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick etc.”
