Hiram E. Leonard Diary, March 21 - 27, 1872
“21st Thursday cold winter like weather I did my choars choared round the office some closed up at 8 and went to bed about 10 tiard & nearly sick and quite sick & went to bed [in margin] Mrs Anesworth was sick.
“22nd Friday A cold winter like day I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 10 nearly sick Amer Stone went to Garys Mills to an exebition tonight stayed to Sam McKellips all night.
“23rd Saturday A cold winter like day I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up about 8 & went to bed about 10 nearly sick with a cold [in margin] Mrs Stone came here from Wheaton & stayed all night & Nelson was here & stayed all night & Mrs Anesworth to Caroline & Emma Stone went to meeting.
“24th Sunday A cold & rather pleasant day I did my choars choared round some went to the farm & took care of the cow etc went to bed about 10 nearly sick with a cold [in margin] David Root & wife came here & took Hatta home & ________ David came down & got Mrs Anesworth Mrs Stone stayed here all day & night except going to meeting.
“25th Monday fine dry weather but cold for March I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 10 nearly sick.
“26th Tuesday fine weather but cold & dry I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 10 tiard & nearly sick.
“27th Wednesday fine cold weather & dry I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 10 tiard & nearly sick.”
