Hiram E. Leonard Diary, September 13 - 19, 1871

 “13th Wednesday  rather a fine day  I did my choars choared round some & was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick  Edward McFerren was married tonight to Daniel Warns daughter & came down & stayed with Darius Bartholomew in the Bliss house.

14th Thursday  rather a cloudy damp misty day raw last night  I did my choars was at the office all day a choaring closed up at 8 ½ and went to bed at 9 nearly sick [in margin] sold my calf.

15th Friday  A cloudy misty damp day  I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick [in margin] French very sick.

16th Saturday  A cloudy damp day & shower in afternoon  I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick.

17th Sunday  A fine pleasant day with a cool air  I did my choars choared round the office & house some put up some wine etc went to bed at 9 nearly sick  Frank Gary called here this afternoon after meeting.

18th Monday  fine weather with a cool breeze  I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ and went to bed at 9 nearly sick & tiared out [in margin] court set at Wheaton.

19th Tuesday  fine cool weather but verry dry  I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 tiard & about sick  French sick.”
