“11th Wednesday fine cool dry windy weather I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick.
“12th Thursday A fine cool windy dry day I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick.
“13th Friday A cool pleasant day but some cloudy I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 nearly sick [in margin] the fire is yet burning in Chicago in the coal beds Barrus got done husking corn on my place.
“14th Saturday fine weather first began to rain in the night & rained more or less all day but slow I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick Mrs Stone came here before noon & stayed all night the wind blew very hard & we got up about 11 & set up till one verry heavey wind.
“15th Sunday A cloudy morning but fine cool day I did my choars choared round the house some went to the farm etc went to bed about 9 nearly sick Mrs Stone was here and Emma, Nelson & Elezar all came here I had a blow up with Elezar about not paying me and lying about it to H Balis & H Barkdal.
“16th Monday rather fine dry cool weather I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 tiard & nearly sick.
“17th Tuesday fine cool weather the ground verry dry I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 nearly sick & tiard out.”
