Hiram E. Leonard Diary, January 25 - 31, 1871

25th Wednesday  fine winter weather & good sleighing  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 sick.

26th Thursday  fine weather for winter  I did my choars was at the office all day a choaring closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick  Frank Wellman went to Chicago to stay a few days.

27th Friday  fine winter weather & good sleighing  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick.

28th Saturday  A fine day for winter  I did my choars choared round the office closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick, the quarterly meeting commenced this afternoon  Anesworth called to Kenyons to supper.

29th Sunday  A cloudy day but not cold  I did my choars was round the house all day, went to Barus in afternoon came back & went to bed at 9 sick [in margin] quarterly meeting today.

30th Monday  rather fine winter weather  I did my choars was at the office all day a choaring closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 nearly sick & worne out.”
