Hiram E. Leonard Diary, May 27 - June 2, 1869
“27th 28th 29th Thursday Friday & Saturday Cloudy wet muddy weather the most of the time I did my choars was at the office every day came home each day at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out with trouble etc.
“30th Sunday more pleasant weather I did my choars was at the office in morning & at home the most of the day a choaring round at office in evening came home & went to bed at 9 [in margin] a storm here and evening.
“31st Monday A fine pleasant day but muddy I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out with trouble etc.
“June 1st Tuesday fine weather but cool I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out with trouble etc.
“2nd Wednesday rather fine weather I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out with trouble.”
