Hiram E. Leonard Diary, April 22 - 28, 1869
“22nd Thursday a fine day & is a drying fast I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick & worne out etc.
“23rd Friday A fine day but windy I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick worne out with Sister etc [in margin] Resseguie sewed hay Fowler took my cow home oats on _________.
“24th Saturday rather a fine day some cloudy & cool at night I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out L Resseguie cross dragged the oats & J Pollard sowed some grass seed on about 3 acres.
“25th Sunday A fine pleasant day with a cool air I did my choars was at the house all day a choaring round etc went to the office in evening came back & went to bed at 9 nearly sick & worne out with trouble Caroline, Eliza & Wallace went to meeting at both houses.
“26th Monday rather fine cool weather for April I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard & nearly sick & worne out with trouble etc.
“27th Tuesday fine cool weather for the season I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ and went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out with trouble [in margin] Mrs Fred Pollard was buried at Aurora today.
“28th Wednesday fine cool weather for April I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out with trouble etc.”
