“14th Thursday rather fine weather I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.
“15th Friday rather fine weather I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out.
“16th Saturday A fine cool day I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out [in margin] Caroline & Eliza went to Naperville & back.
“17th Sunday A fine cool day I did my choars was round home all day a choaring & went to office about 10 & back pack apples into a box to send to Iowa went to office in evening came home & went to bed at 9 nearly sick Jane Barras & 2 children stayed till about 4 when they started for home.
“18th Monday a fine cool day I did my choars was at the office all day came home & went to bed about 10 nearly sick Mrs Stone washed, the girls were getting ready to go to Iowa for the winter.
“19th Tuesday rather a cloudy morning but fine day I did my choars went to the office in morning came up with the stage & helped start Caroline & Eliza & Wallace for Iowa they left about ½ past 8 I was at the store all day came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick and lonesome the girls got along in the cars first rate.
“20th Wednesday rather a fine cool day I did my choars was at the store all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick Caroline etc got at Fort Dodge this morning about 8 oclock.”
